The Nakamichi NAM5260 is a 9-inch double-DIN Android car receiver running on the NK 12.0 system, powered by 4GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. Where most in-dash head units in this segment focus primarily on connectivity, the NAM5260 brings an equally strong emphasis on audio output quality, offering a 32-band equaliser, subwoofer pre-output, and configurable 2.0 and 2.1 pre-amp modes alongside wireless smartphone integration. It is designed for drivers who want both a connected dashboard and serious control over how their car sounds.

9-Inch HD Capacitive Touchscreen at 500 Nits

The NAM5260 uses a 9-inch capacitive touchscreen running at 1280 x 720 HD resolution with a peak brightness of 500 nits. The higher nit count makes the display significantly easier to read under direct sunlight and bright outdoor conditions compared to lower-brightness panels common in this category. Touch response is accurate and consistent across the full display surface.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

The NAM5260 supports wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto for compatible phones. Once paired, maps, music, calls, and messages from your phone run directly through the 9-inch screen without a cable. Note that phone link compatibility is with certain Android and iOS devices; please verify your phone's compatibility before purchase.

32-Band Equaliser with 6 Presets

The NAM5260 includes a 32-band parametric equaliser with 6 preset configurations. This level of EQ granularity allows precise adjustment of individual frequency bands across the full audio spectrum rather than relying on basic bass, mid, and treble sliders. The NAM5260 delivers a maximum 50W output across four speaker channels, providing sufficient headroom for clear, high-volume playback on stock speakers and room to grow when paired with an upgraded speaker set.

Subwoofer Pre-Output and Dual Pre-Amp Modes

The pre-amp output on the NAM5260 is configurable in two modes. The 2.0 mode provides left and right channel outputs for standard stereo operation in the T Series configuration. The 2.1 mode adds a dedicated subwoofer output line, making the NAM5260 compatible with external amplifier setups that include a subwoofer without requiring a separate crossover or line output converter. This makes the head unit a practical anchor for a more complete in-car audio build.

AHD 1080P Camera Input

The NAM5260 supports AHD 1080P resolution camera input, a specification above the standard analogue CVBS inputs found on most head units in this range. When a compatible AHD 1080P camera is connected, the rear view displayed on the 9-inch screen is sharper and more detailed. The rear camera itself is not included and is available separately.

Video and Audio Format Support

For locally stored media, the NAM5260 supports video playback in H264, MP4, AVI, MKV, and FLV formats. Audio playback covers MP3, APE, AAC, and FLAC, including lossless FLAC files for listeners who prioritise audio quality from stored collections.
