The Sony XAV-AX8100 is a single-DIN Digital Media Receiver built around a 22.7 cm (8.95-inch) anti-glare touchscreen that extends outward from the dashboard on a 3-way adjustable mount, giving you a significantly larger display than what a standard DIN slot would normally accommodate. It brings together wired and wireless smartphone connectivity, Sony's EXTRA BASS and Dynamic Stage Organiser audio technologies, HDMI input for external source devices, three high-voltage pre-amp outputs, and a 55W x4 amplifier into a single-DIN installation.

22.7 cm Anti-Glare Floating Display

The oversized 8.95-inch touchscreen sits on a floating mount that hovers above the dashboard rather than recessing into a double-DIN slot. The anti-glare coating reduces reflection in bright conditions, keeping navigation, music controls, and smartphone apps visible and easy to read while driving. The large display area makes every function, from route maps to track selection, accessible at a glance.

3-Way Adjustable Mount for Flexible Fitment

The mount supporting the XAV-AX8100's display adjusts in three independent directions. Tilt moves ±10 degrees for vertical viewing angle adjustment. Depth ranges from 3.99 cm to 5.99 cm, controlling how far forward the screen sits from the dashboard surface. Height adjustment provides 5.99 cm of vertical repositioning. This range of adjustment allows the receiver to be fitted across a wide variety of vehicle interiors and dashboard configurations while maintaining an appropriate viewing angle for the driver.

Android Auto and Apple CarPlay

The XAV-AX8100 supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, giving compatible smartphones direct access to navigation, music, calls, and messaging through the 8.95-inch screen. A supplied microphone enables voice control through Siri for iPhone users and Google Assistant for Android users, allowing hands-free command of navigation and communication without taking hands off the wheel.

WebLink Cast for Screen Mirroring

WebLink Cast is a lightweight platform designed specifically for in-vehicle use that allows compatible Android and iOS smartphones to mirror their screen directly onto the car audio display. This extends the receiver's connectivity beyond CarPlay and Android Auto, making a broader range of apps accessible through the receiver's interface while driving.

HDMI Input for External Source Devices

A dedicated HDMI input on the XAV-AX8100 allows an external source device to be connected directly to the receiver. This expands playback options to include HDMI-output devices beyond the receiver's standard USB and smartphone connectivity.

EXTRA BASS Technology

Sony's EXTRA BASS technology enhances low-frequency audio output, delivering more audible bass response at lower volumes and through stock speakers that may have limited low-end capability. This is particularly noticeable in vehicles where factory speakers provide minimal bass reproduction.

Dynamic Stage Organiser

The Dynamic Stage Organiser creates virtual speaker positioning on the dashboard, adjusting the perceived soundstage so that audio appears to originate from in front of and around the driver rather than from speaker locations at door level or behind. 3 Pre-Amp Outputs at 5V

Three pre-amp outputs (Front, Rear, and Subwoofer) each rated at 5V provide high-voltage signal output for connecting external amplifiers or a dedicated subwoofer amplifier. The 5V pre-out voltage reduces noise and provides stronger signal headroom than lower-voltage pre-outs common in this segment.

Rear-View Camera Ready

The XAV-AX8100 supports a rear-view camera input. When a compatible rear camera is connected, the display switches to the camera feed upon engaging reverse. Customisable parking guidelines can be configured on the screen to assist with positioning.

Quick Wake-Up

The Quick Wake-Up feature brings the receiver to its active state promptly after the ignition is turned on, reducing the delay between starting the vehicle and having full access to navigation and audio controls.
